Christmas Update

Henderson Christmas Update November 25, 2006

Carolyn Rose Henderson

Born: Friday, November 17th, 7:12am

Weight: 7 lbs, 13 oz

Length: 20 in

Dieneke went to the hospital in labor at 1:30am, and by 7am the doctor decided to deliver the baby via Cesarean due to an irregularity in the baby’s heart rate. Dieneke and Carolyn are both healthy and fine; we returned from the hospital on the 20th. We were blessed to have Dieneke’s mother staying with us to help us out during this time.

We were very pleased to have been able to settle down in our new apartment and feel quite at home before Carolyn ever arrived. Jared was working for a friend of his, staining outdoor decks for a couple weeks and has now found a temporary job at a machine shop. He won’t begin training to work at Cessna until January, which both of us are very much looking forward to.

We cannot begin to tell you all the ways God has blessed us and has gone before us working out everything these past few months, but we would like to share a few with you. When we first considered other options for flight & mechanic training, God strategically opened various doors for us to move here when we did. We heard of the job opportunity at Cessna and wanted to come as soon as possible before they stopped hiring. We only had one week to notify our apartment management before we would have to wait until March due to the winter clause in our lease agreement. Dieneke was able to complete all her required credits to graduate at NTBI before the move. Jared was laid off one week before we had planned to move, thereby qualifying us for unemployment during the transition. We were able to move almost everything we owned without ever having to rent a truck or trailer. We didn’t have any problems with our van throughout the long trip to Kansas, and when we did have problems after our move, some friends offered to help us out and pay for the repair. When we arrived in Wichita, Jared had no job, we had no apartment, and Dieneke was a month from her due date with no doctor. But God worked wonders as he provided us with all three within the first couple weeks.

Please pray for us:

-as we wait for Jared to get this job with Cessna

-as we now learn to be parents

-as we make plans to visit Dieneke’s family in Canada for Christmas

In Christ,

Jared & Dieneke Henderson
