Pictures of Carolyn

Christmas Update

Henderson Christmas Update November 25, 2006

Carolyn Rose Henderson

Born: Friday, November 17th, 7:12am

Weight: 7 lbs, 13 oz

Length: 20 in

Dieneke went to the hospital in labor at 1:30am, and by 7am the doctor decided to deliver the baby via Cesarean due to an irregularity in the baby’s heart rate. Dieneke and Carolyn are both healthy and fine; we returned from the hospital on the 20th. We were blessed to have Dieneke’s mother staying with us to help us out during this time.

We were very pleased to have been able to settle down in our new apartment and feel quite at home before Carolyn ever arrived. Jared was working for a friend of his, staining outdoor decks for a couple weeks and has now found a temporary job at a machine shop. He won’t begin training to work at Cessna until January, which both of us are very much looking forward to.

We cannot begin to tell you all the ways God has blessed us and has gone before us working out everything these past few months, but we would like to share a few with you. When we first considered other options for flight & mechanic training, God strategically opened various doors for us to move here when we did. We heard of the job opportunity at Cessna and wanted to come as soon as possible before they stopped hiring. We only had one week to notify our apartment management before we would have to wait until March due to the winter clause in our lease agreement. Dieneke was able to complete all her required credits to graduate at NTBI before the move. Jared was laid off one week before we had planned to move, thereby qualifying us for unemployment during the transition. We were able to move almost everything we owned without ever having to rent a truck or trailer. We didn’t have any problems with our van throughout the long trip to Kansas, and when we did have problems after our move, some friends offered to help us out and pay for the repair. When we arrived in Wichita, Jared had no job, we had no apartment, and Dieneke was a month from her due date with no doctor. But God worked wonders as he provided us with all three within the first couple weeks.

Please pray for us:

-as we wait for Jared to get this job with Cessna

-as we now learn to be parents

-as we make plans to visit Dieneke’s family in Canada for Christmas

In Christ,

Jared & Dieneke Henderson

Carolyn has arrived!

Jared had the fun job of massaging Dieneke's lower back during (and sometimes between) every contraction, so we didn't get any sleep after we left for the hospital at 1:30am.About four hours and one epidural later, it was decided to deliver the baby by C-section due to a small problem with the baby's heart rate.
After the surgery, Dieneke finally got to hold her little girl (but because of the drugs, she couldn't see her very well).
Carolyn is such a lazy baby, she just sleeps and sleeps and sleeps.
Once again, Carolyn's sleeping again. Such a little angel!
From the very beginning, Carolyn's eyes were wide open (when she wasn't sleeping). She has gorgeous dark blue eyes.
Our first family picture, all of us wide awake and well rested ;)
Once again, our little angel is sleeping again, and look at that hair!

New house

Well, we're in Kansas now. Jared is in the process of testing and then training for a job with Cessna. Dieneke is now 8 months pregnant. We're excited about how fast things have worked out. We're pretty much settled down and ready for the baby to come. Here's some pictures of our new apartment. (2 bedrooms & 2 baths)

Here's what's new!

Jared's beard is getting long!
Doesn't he look so silly. (he looks like a squirrel)

My tomatoes are finally turning red!
I canned some peaches!

And here's Deanna when she came to visit today.
She looks so good! (if you're a guy, BACK OFF!)

Moving to Witchita Kansas

We're Moving!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're moving to Kansas the end of October. It's a last minute decision so things are kind of crazy. Jared has applied for a job working at Cessna in Wichita Kansas, but we don't have time to wait and see if he will get the job before deciding to move because we signed a clause with the apartement management saying that we would not move out during the winter months, and we have to give them alot of notice before we move. So, job, or no job, we're moving. Our other reason to move to Kansas is that we are wanting to build up relationships with the churches in Kansas in preparation for missions. It's a huge step of faith, because we don't have a clue how this is all going to pan out. Please be in deep prayer for us in this crazy hectic time, and that Jared gets this job.

First Entry

It has been very busy for us these last few weeks. Trip to visit Herricks, trip to the Missionary Training Center (Camdenton, MO), Dave and the kids came to visit, and now this weekend we have Nate & Anya Kloth staying over at our place and school at NTBI is starting up. I only need 1 1/3 credits to graduate, so I'll just be taking a couple light classes this semester.

Lately Jared and I have been looking more closely at our future role in New Tribes Mission. We have alot of decisions ahead of us, so we'd appreciate your prayers.

Last weekend a lawnmower-propelled rock destroyed a window on our car, but fortunately the landscaping company is paying to replace it.

Baby Carolyn has been kicking enough now that it is finally getting annoying. I'm finally pregnant enough that people notice now so I've been getting lots of comments and people wanting to come touch my tummy. I'm eager for the end.

Jared and I have picked up colds and are all stuffed up, lucky for him though he can still take medication.
