Independence Day

On Independence Day, we had a picnic by the lake at the MTC.

We're now in Wichita for three weeks, and our church hosted a block party today. We enjoyed an inflatable obstacle course, snow cones, cotton candy, and Dieneke practically took over the face-painting booth.

Visiting friends and family

We have been to Indiana, Michigan, and Ontario, Canada. We still have another 5 or 6 days left of our trip. Please pray for us as we travel. Our air conditioner in our car gave out a couple days ago, so it will be hot traveling. We're praying for cool weather.

Traveling

I thought I'd post some pictures of us so you can see that we're doing well. The children are really being great and seem to enjoy meeting all the new people.

Henry can climb the slide

We put the castle back on the cement since the boys with bikes are out of town for the summer and the rock lawn is getting dirt and (hopefully) grass. Ever since, Henry has been trying his hardest to climb up the slide. Today he figured out that his feet have better traction on the plastic then the knees of his pants do.

Long Overdue

Wow, so much has happened since our last post. We're over the chickenpox and shingles. Our health has been alright since then except that Dieneke had a cyst removed from her shoulder this week. Last Saturday we celebrated Henry's first birthday. Classes ended Tuesday, so we're offficially in summer break. Jared's mom is visiting this weekend (Memorial Day weekend). And we're preparing for a four week trip to Canada, Michigan, Indiana & Wisconsin next Sunday.
