This weekend

We had a really great start to our weekend. It was very relaxing. We got to spend some time getting to know some neighbors and classmates, and Carolyn loved having our neighbors' mice over for a visit while they were out of town. Sadly our weekend didn't end so well. Today Henry and Dieneke have both been under the weather. Looks like they've caught the flu.

A few weeks ago, Carolyn asked her Mommy for some licorice, but missed a crucial but funny syllable.

Henry's First Steps

Well, Henry officially took two steps today, and we caught it on video!

Some good news

This last Friday we took a test to see how well we would naturally do in linguistics, and today we bumped into the teacher who is grading the tests and he informed Jared that he had a perfect test. It's really exciting to know that Jared is naturally gifted in this area, but now this opens up another possibility of how we could be used on the field. Please pray with us that the Lord would guide us in deciding what type of job we should do over seas.

This last week Henry surprised us all and went from refusing all solids, to eating everything in sight. It has been really fun for Carolyn as she loves sharing her food with Henry. You would think this would make things easier on mom. Sadly no, because he has not switched from breastfeeding to solids, rather he has added the solids on to what he was already eating.

So here's what's up. This morning Jared wasn't feeling well, and missed classes. Tomorrow we start a new class, Ministry Partnership, and Monday we start Phonetics. This weekend is Jared's birthday and my grandparents are coming for the weekend. We had a nice relaxing time this last weekend. I was able to help my neighbor out some, and we got to spend some time getting to know some of the other students here. In two weeks we are going back to Wichita, KS for a friend's wedding. So things are busy, but we still find time to fit in some non-school activities.

Sick again

Today Dieneke and the kids stayed home from classes. Seems they caught the flu or something. Lucklily this time it's not so bad. Their fevers didn't get very high and despite the stomach aches, for the most part they were able to hold on to their food. Hopefully they'll be able to be back in classes tomorrow.
